David Houle

March 14th, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Houle on March 14, 2012 at the age of 54.  His family was by his side when he left us to be with the Lord.  He will be greatly missed by his wife Anne, son Jordan, daughter Sarah, mother Vivian, sisters Marilyn (Eric), Cecile (George), Debbie (Mark), Laura, brothers Joe (Lydia), Leonard (Sherri), Tom (Gina), Brian (Gwen) and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father Neil.

Dave was born in Kitimat and shortly thereafter moved to the Lower Mainland.  He went to school at Immaculate Conception, Delview, and graduated from North Delta Senior Secondary in 1975.

Dave followed in his father’s footsteps and became a dump truck driver among other business ventures.  No matter what he did, he gave it everything he had.

In 1988, he married Anne and settled in Surrey.  For David, family was the most important thing in his life.  He was a hardworking man and the ultimate handyman.  Dave could fix anything without spending much money.  You could ask him anything and he would have an answer to it.  Dave enjoyed camping, driving, and being outdoors.  For the last 21 years, he has enjoyed landscaping his yard for his family and friends to enjoy.  Dave was an avid reader and actively involved in the Newton Fellowship Church.

Dave will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday March 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Newton Fellowship Church, 7328 144 Street, Surrey, BC, with reception to follow.  An open casket viewing will be available from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation benefiting Cardiac ICU.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

Anne, Jordan and Sarah, I wish to pass on my condolences with your loss of husband and father. Over the past eight months Dave and I worked on many sites together and during breaks or chatting on the CB radio we got to know each other on a personal level. Dave was always willing to help me in any way he could, whether it was trade knowledge or something mechanical. We had many things in common, most importantly we where brothers in Christ. He spoke openly about his faith and church. It is a comfort to know Dave is now with our Lord. I will miss him as a friend and peer. My prayers are with you and your family in the difficult times ahead.

Have been thinking so much about David and his precious life to all his family and friends. David has giv en us all so much to look up to and admire. Still praying for him and those he leaves with loving memories. LOVE YOU ALL

Unbelievably sad. "At times, life's path seems filled with things that make the going rough. And we wish there were a smoother road for we feel we've had enough.. But, if we pause a moment and remember Who's in charge, The hills that loom ahead of us no longer seem so large. And every rock before us, when we know we're not alone, Becomes, not just a stumbling block, but one more stepping stone." Dear Anne, Jordan, Sarah, Auntie Vivian and Cousins, Our deepest heartfelt thoughts are with you all. Kathy and Bruce Kingsley Qualicum Beach, B.C.
