James (Jim) McPherson Duncan passed away on Wednesday, May15, 2019, at the age of 85.
Jim was born near Condor on December 26, 1933, to George and Helen Duncan.
He grew up on the family farm west of Eckville and attended Shady Lane School. Throughout his early years he worked various jobs with his brothers. In 1950 he purchased his first truck and worked a variety of jobs hauling lumber and gravel in central and southern Alberta.
On January 5, 1957, he married Doreen Aitken. After living in Rocky Mountain House for a short period of time they moved to the farm at Withrow in1959 and together they raised their 4 children. Jim resided there until his passing.
Jim is survived by sons, John (Karen) and Dale (Brenda); daughter, Kathy (Otto); five grandchildren; one great grandson and one great step-grandson; also two brothers, George (Ann) and Peter; sister, Hazel and sister-in-law, Donna and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife Doreen; son, Bob; two brothers; two sisters and one daughter-in-law.
A Memorial Service will be held at Eckville Community Centre on May 21, 2019 at 2:00pm.
