It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Paul Wuerfel. Paul was born in Yorkton, SK on February 25, 1937 and passed away in Calgary, AB on September 6th, 2022 at 85 years of age.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Jackie, earlier this year and by his stepdaughter, Kim in 2016. Paul “Wurf” Wuerfel retired as a Sgt. in 1981 after 25 years service as a member of the RCMP. He is lovingly remembered by his stepson, Gary Martin (Krista) and their children, Jessica (Steven), Erin and Jayson, and two great grandchildren, Nora and George, as well as Kim’s daughter, Alexa. He was also loved and survived by his adopted daughter, Glenna Welykochy (Don) and their children, Nicole and Christopher.
The family will hold a quiet celebration of life at a later date.

Paul will remain in our hearts as a dear friend and neighbour, a steady presence in our family, and a favourite treat-giver to Trouble and Mabel. We have been lucky to have him, Jackie, and their entire family in our lives. Much love to you all.

I took my mother Ardis to visit our cousin Paul last spring as it had been a long time since they had visited in person. We had a lovely time with Paul and I so enjoyed listening to his stories. Very glad he and mom were able to visit and that I was able to meet Paul again. Sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy to you all. I have many fond memories of my cousin Paul. He loved the farm and I recall the shenanigans that the three cousins, Albert, Paul and Harvey got into many times. And the stories Paul related at the family reunions were unforgettable! He will be so missed. So sorry for your loss.
