Helene – We were saddened to hear of the loss of your dear husband. From when I knew Bert during his tenure with the Government in Saskatchewan, to our meetings in Medicine Hat, I treasured our conversations. I knew him to be worldly in thought and politically wise. He was always genuinely interested in progress and when he spoke to me I sensed his words were carefully thought out and sincere. Hence he left a lasting impression. St. Pats lost a good “alter boy” Helene – but I am sure his new church is wonderful. All our very best, Gerry and Cathy Labas

I have great memories of working with you and Bert and I am always grateful that we had those opportunities. May God guide you on next chapter and keep you moving forward. if ever your path brings back to the Hat please look me up for a coffee and chat..... Respectfully, Take Care, Always, Carol Lees

Dear Helene & family: My condolences to you, and your family. Bert was a very faithful servant, and working with him in St.Vincent de Paul was a privilege and honor that I will cherish forever. I pray for the repose of his soul, and for your well-being. Simonne

Dear Helene and family, Methanex Corporation and its Medicine Hat plant family extend its deepest sympathies to you and your family. Bert was a very knowledgeable and personable member of our Community Advisory Panel. One of his fellow Panel members contacted us upon hearing of Bert's passing to say Bert contributed greatly to the success of the group. We are so grateful that volunteering became Bert's "new venture" after his retirement in Medicine Hat. Please accept our condolences. A donation will be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Bert's honour.
