Carlos Cobarrubia
June 8th, 1933 ~ September 5th, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father Carlos Cobarrubia on Sunday, Sept 5 at Richmond General Hospital at age 88.
Carlos was born and raised in Cavite City, Philippines into a large family of 10 brothers and sisters. Carlos moved to Canada (Vancouver) with his family in 1974 where he settled and raised his family with wife Claire, daughter Marissa and son Michael. Carlos worked as an Auto Mechanic, Heavy duty Mechanic at various businesses and then switch career as an Airframe Technician for Avcorp Industries where he retired summer of 1998.
He was predeceased by his wife Clarita Cobarrubia (May 15, 1991), his parents Alfredo and Carmen, siblings, Enrique (Quito), Antonio (Tony), Salvadora (Dorit), Amelia, Minerva, and Felicidad. He is survived by his Daughter Marissa (Ramon), his Son Micheal (Elaine), 3 grandchildren - Raemon, Jordan and Mica, sisters, Corazon and Pilar, brother Ricardo (Carding) and many nieces and nephews in Canada, US and the Philippines.
Carlos was loved for his outgoing and free-spirited personality. He had a generous heart and brought tremendous joy to all through his funny stories and charm. He will be dearly missed.
An intimate church ceremony will be held at St. Monica’s Parish in Richmond on Saturday, September 11 @ 1 PM for viewing and church service to follow at 2 PM. The interment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby, BC at a later date. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the Doctors, Nurses, Caregivers, and support staff who assisted Carlos during the last couple of years for their care and compassion.
