Michael Steven McGrath

January 3rd, 2015

Michael passed peacefully in his sleep at his home, very suddenly on Jan 3, 2015.

Michael was pre-deceased by his Dad, Joseph A.W. McGrath in 1994 and his brother Ingo and sister-in-law Betty in 1999. He leaves to mourn his partner Susan Sidney, his mother Hannelore McGrath from Napanee Ont, his sister Monika (Jeff), brothers Patrick (Susan) and Peter (Marina), numerous nephews and nieces from B.C. Manitoba and Ontario, also cousins from BC., Ont, and N.B.

Michael loved the great outdoors, especially his favourite fishing spot where he caught many of his "big ones" (and he did get pictures of most!)

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held at Alternative Funeral Home, 3070 275A St. Aldergrove BC, from 3:30-4:30pm on Thursday January 8th followed by a get-together with his family and friends at Bertram Estates, 27044 32 Ave Aldergrove, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to Michael. He was a good man, friend and cousin. He was not just family but a friend and someone that was a wonderful support to me the past few years. I am thankful to Micheal for how he touched my life and was there for me in such a loving and supportive way, while I was going through my own battle with cancer. I can not explain how grateful I am to him for all his kind notes, messages, calls and even packages that he sent to me during this most difficult time of my life. I will be forever grateful, and only wish that I too, could be there to show my love and support in person. He was a good man raised by an amazing mother, that I too had the privilege of being raised by. My heart goes out to his kind and compassionate mother Hanna McGrath. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that love him on this sad occasion. With much love and warmth in my heart, Charity McGrath/DiPaola, Joe and Kieasha DiPaola
