TINGSKOU, Marie Patricia Gail

August 29th, 1954 – August 3rd, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loved one, Marie Patricia Gail Tingskou (Nee McNair). Marie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 29th, 1954, to Doug and Juliette McNair. She grew up with 9 wonderful brothers and sisters: Robert McNair (Jennette), Evelyn Tytgat (Lenny), Eddie McNair, Diane St. Jean (Denis), Louise McNair (Denny), Gerald McNair (Lise), David MacNair (Joelle), Patricia McNair, Paul McNair (Lisa). The running joke was that there were always enough kids to make a hockey team every winter. She also had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly. On September 15th, 1979, Marie married the love of her life, Tony Tingskou. Their first few years of dating and marriage were spent camping, and exploring their favorite province, beautiful British Columbia. In July 1982 they welcomed their daughter Amy into the world. In 1986, their dream of moving to British Columbia came true. They moved to a beautiful home in Abbotsford, BC with a spectacular view of the mountains. Shortly after, in May 1986, they welcomed their son, Randall and as Marie always said her “Million Dollar Family” was complete. The next few years passed quickly, with many summers spent camping at Cultus Lake. There, they met friends, made friends, and had innumerable laughs together. During the winter, they were in front of the TV cheering on the Canucks.  In 2014 Marie was thrilled to be reunited with her first born, Tony Rendina, his wife Elizabeth, and her two granddaughters Alessia and Julianna. In her later years, Marie moved to White Rock, where she and Tony basked in the sunshine and enjoyed the ocean air. In the last year of her life, Marie got to see her son Randy marry his beautiful wife, Kaleigh McAlpine and officially welcomed her favorite grandson, Jacob to the family. Tony and Marie were always quick to say that all their kids were the greatest reward of their lives. At the end of her life, Marie resided at Holmberg House in Abbotsford, where she was doted on by their amazing staff. She was blessed to have her friends and loved ones around her right until the very end. A celebration of life will take place in White Rock at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holmberg House would be greatly appreciated.  “Escorted home by angels"

Tony & family and to the McNair family, sincere sympathy for the loss of a wife, mother and sister. I remember great summers with this cousin, she truly enjoyed being in the country. I have fond memories of Marie. Rest In Peace my dear❣️

Sincerest condolences to Tony, Amy, Randy, Louise McNair and all the McNair family. It is a beautiful photo of Marie in the Winnipeg Free Press today. That is how I remember her. I have known Marie since grade school as I am best friends with her sister Louise and we all attended the same school. I had the pleasure of visiting the McNair residences on many occasions throughout the years, and I have vivid memories of Marie's twinkling and beautiful blue eyes and her mischievous smile! We are so sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts and hearts. Sincerely, Norma & Claude Brunel

Tony…… Sorry to hear about Marie’s passing. I remember when I was at TransX you telling me Marie was the love of your life and that she kept you grounded and on the straight and narrow. It would take a remarkable woman indeed to do that. Again, my sincere condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. Take care. Dave Anderson - (Anderchuk)

Tony and family. May the angels console you and bring you peace. With love. Lorraine

To the Tingskou family my sincerest condolences. I have known my good friend Tony for over 30 years and he spoke so fondly of his wife Maria and their two children. Family meant the world to him and I know this loss will be difficult for him and his children. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and may you know God’s abiding peace during these days. With all my support and best wishes. Doug
