It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Tremblay. She leaves behind 5 children and their spouses, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and dear friends. Mom was born in 1926 in a farmhouse in Agassiz which was built by her father. It's there that she met her husband Arthur after the war. They later settled in Westsyde where together they raised 5 children, Diane, Carol, Ken, Sue, and Annette and lived there for many years.
Mom was a beautiful seamstress and made clothes for all of her kids, as well as a beautiful knitter and gardener.
After dad passed she moved to Cottonwood where she continued to enjoy meeting friends in the coffee room and spent many hours volunteering and knitting for the craft room. As her health deteriorated, she moved into Chartwell and from there to Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice.
We would like to thank the staff of Royal Inland Hospital, Chartwell and Hospice where she was looked after with care and love.
Once it is safe to do so our families will get together to celebrate her life and share many heartfelt stories.
In lieu of flowers a donation to your Charity of choice would be appreciated.
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, Yvonne. My own mother, Henryka Tuyttens, passed away in August 2020. My father, John Tuyttens, passed away in February 2008. He was the son of Raymond and Marie Tuyttens in Agassiz. My parents often talked about your mom & dad and attended a family wedding many years ago. I am going through many photos now and piecing together our family tree - quite a big family! Again, I am very sorry for the loss of your mother.
Annette and family. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I always remember her being so kind. Prayers are with your family. Terri Tischler (Kilback)
My heartfelt Condolences to Diane, Carol, Sue, Ken, Annette and their families. Your Mother was an amazing lady. She sewed my highschool graduation dress. It was Beautiful. I was so very proud to wear it. I have treasured it all these years (1980). Both of your parents were dear friends of my parents. She will be missed by all who knew her. "No further away than a picture, forever in your hearts". Take good care of each other. Coleen Karr❤
I'm writing on behalf for Patrick O'Neil....he was greatly saddened to hear of Yvonne's passing. Each time I visited the Cottonwood, Yvonne would grab my hand and ask me to sing ,You Are My Sunshine.. Ohh how that pleased her and despite my blindness I could tell she had a big smile on her face. She would tell me I was a kid since she was older than me, and we would both chuckle over that. Your warmth, love n laughter will be missed. Condolences to the family. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear how much I love you, Please don't take my sunshine away....Patrick O'Neil
So sorry to hear of Yvonne's passing. She was a very special lady.
