Lisa Michelle Kouroupis

June 29th, 2022

Lisa Michelle Kouroupis November 8, 1974 – June 29, 2022.

Beloved wife, sister, daughter, auntie, niece, cousin, and friend, Lisa Michelle Kouroupis, peacefully passed away June 29th, 2022, after a short courageous battle with lung cancer.

Lisa is survived by her loving husband Simon, mother Linda, brother Jim (Yvette), sister Maria (Terry) and nieces, Allison (Wes), Alexa (Dawson), Elise and Cate and fur-niece Stella. Lisa also leaves behind Auntie Heather, cousins Andrew, Rosy, Dustin and Aaron.  She will be dearly missed by her soul sisters and long-time friends, as well as many dear clients she made while hairstyling in Ladner, BC.

Lisa was the youngest daughter of Linda and grew up in Ladner BC.  She graduated from Delta Secondary High School in 1992, and then found her calling in life as a hair stylist.  She was a fantastic listener and her kind and empathetic nature lent her to be a respected and trusted confidante for many of her clients.  Her skills and inherent knack to know what a client was asking for and what would look good on them, was unmatched.  Her gift was her magic fingers.  She worked in Ladner for her entire career and built a strong community of friends, coworkers and clients, whom she loved.

Lisa met the love of her life, Simon, in 2004.  They created a life together in Surrey BC.  When she was not working, Lisa enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Her favorite vacations were to tropical destinations where she could put her feet in the warm sand and feel sunshine on her face. She cherished getaways with her mom, Maria, Auntie Heather and Rosy (her confidante), loved spending time with her nieces who held a special place in her heart, as well as going to Jim’s house at Shuswap Lake and weekend trips with ‘the girls”.

Lisa will be remembered for her contagious smile, politeness, resilience, compassion and for always thinking about everyone else first.  Her generosity and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may make a donation to the Peace Arch Hospice Society, where Lisa received care in her final days.  While in Melville Hospice, Lisa and family were well supported by kind and caring nurses, doctors and staff. Special thanks to Dr. Sharon Duncan and nurses Marigin and Rochelle (Gin and Tonic), Tracey, Maria, Annabelle, Gisele, Joy, Kavita, Barb, Stephanie and Irina.

Messages:

Condolences to her family and loved ones. I found out today when I went to visit Blades as her salon consultant. She always had the sweetest smile for me and stories about her nieces and her trips. She was an amazing person and she is deeply missed.

I just found out about Lisa's passing and I am so sorry to hear this. She cut my hair for a number of years until I moved away. She was a warm and caring woman and I loved our chats together. I am so very sad that she is gone. My condolences to her family.

I just found out about Lisa’s death when I phoned Blades. She was such a lovely woman who cared so much for her nieces and and although I’ve never met them I watched them grow up through photos she kept at her work station. We often chatted about Simon and his far away family and how it is difficult to live at great distance from loved ones. And her love and support for her mom. We were all fortunate to have her in our lives, and I’m so sorry she’s gone.
