Edward Zaytsoff

April 30th, 1932 ~ October 21st, 2021

Ed was born in Pass Creek BC to the loving mother of Polly (Saliken) & Mike Zaytsoff and a special gift to his older brother (by 2 years only) Fred.

It was a hard life but he was never without the love & care of his mother & brother. In April of 1953 he married his loving wife Pauline & they spent the next 65 years growing together raising three children. Pauline predeceased Ed in June of 2018 but he continued to live in his family home under the loving care of his daughters Sheryl & Cindy.

Ed was blessed with the recent arrivals of two new great grandchildren – Nora Lynn in March 2019 & Jacob James (JJ) in January 2021 who lived in the suite downstairs. He spent lots of time interacting with them. He was also extremely proud of his eldest great grandson Lucas especially during the hockey season as Lucas is an avid player. He also loved to hear about the latest adventures of great granddaughter Stella.

Sheryl & Cindy were blessed to have dad so easy to care for and even when his health started to deteriorate during the summer of 2021,  he never asked much more than to go for his drive thru picnics at A&W or Tim’s and to go for a drive to recycle.

He navigated the arduous life changes of the Covid pandemic & was thrilled to be one of the first in the family to get his double vaccinations. He kept updated on world events & always had a comment to share on things going on most often from the faith based knowledge background that he cherished.

Although he had a lot of serious health issues he was only critically ill for 3-4 weeks and was able to be at home until 9 days before his passing. The struggle that finally led to his passing was not too prolonged for which we are thankful. He talked often over the past few months of his readiness to go home to heaven to especially be with his wife, his mom & his brother.

We miss him dearly but are comforted to know he is no longer suffering and is at peace with his Lord Jesus, his wife, his mom, his beloved brother Freddie and the countless numbers of family, friends & saints who were ready to welcome him home.

Lovingly remembered by his family especially his sister Luba & family, daughters Cindy & Sheryl (Daryl), grandchildren Kristin (Mike), Caleb (Nikki), Ryan (Kate), and great grandchildren Lucas, Stella, Nora & JJ.

Messages:

You will be missed grandpa. I remember you as a strong and independent man, and I remember your deep love of grandma. Wishing everyone effected by your passing love and peace during this time.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Ed Zaytsoff. Our thoughts are with you Sheryl, Rob, Cindy and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. I remember when I was a young girl in my early teens he made pumpkin pie from scratch and I have never tasted pumpkin pie that taste that good since. Funny how that thought just came to mind as I was typing this, haven't thought of this pumpkin pie for many years.

So sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was a wonderful man, a big smile and lots of stories. He will be missed. May God be your comforter during this season of sorrow. We love you all!!

Our sincere condolences to Rob, Sheryl, and Cindy and all of Uncle Ed's family. So sorry for your loss.....I know you will all and already are missing him greatly. Love from us both....Margaret and Ken.

Ed, and his late wife Pauline Zaytsoff, we have known from our early days in Trail, BC. Ed was a man full of integrity, kindness, and gentleness; a man who loved the Lord, and served him faithfully all the days of his life.

I have always respected Ed's personal faith and his dedication to his children and grandchildren. He was a good man who was comforted by his faith in good times and bad. I will miss him.

Sorry for your loss. I always think of him as being one of the faithful ones. Thank you for letting Doug and I know. We have the comfort of knowing he is with Jesus, living in joy, free from pain.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Your father, Ed was influential in my life as a young man. He radiated the life and love of Jesus. He gave me a sound example of what a Christian could and should be.

We are so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was an angel to me when I was abandoned. He will be forever in my heart as the kind, thoughtful and gentle soul he is. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. Bruce, Leslie and family.

We are so sorry on the loss of your Dad. We loved your Dad and always enjoyed our visits with him. We enjoyed many laughs with him, he was always a joker. Sending our love and hugs to the family. You are all in our prayers. Love you lots!
