Klaus-Dieter (David) Schiller

February 15th, 2020

Schiller, Klaus-Dieter (David) - It is with a heavy heart that the family announces his passing on February 15th, 2020 in Abbotsford Hospital, British Columbia in his 70th year after a hard-fought & courageous yet devastating battle with cancer.

Born in Fritzlar, Germany and predeceased by his mother Martha, father Karl & brother Karl, brother-in-Law Keith Dolan, sister-in-Law Anne Elnak.  Much loved partner, friend and soulmate of Edward Elnak for 45 years.  Also left to mourn are his sister, Hannelore, brother Horst both of Cornwall, Ont. and brother-in-Law Daniel of Niagara Falls, Ont., many nieces, nephews & extended family & friends.

We will miss his witty sense of humor and zest for adventure.  He enjoyed a long, successful career in Hospitality Management including hotels, restaurants and private clubs in Canada and Florida.  He loved the excitement of travelling and exploring in his RV and held a special place in his heart for all animals, especially Bueford (deceased) and Carlos.

Per his request there will be no formal service.

"We had a wonderful life."

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

Dear Hannelore and Horst, I am very sorry to read of Dieter’s recent passing in Abbotsford. I am sorry to learn of his battle with cancer. I am happy, though, to read the wonderful tributes to him. I remember Dieter and your kindness to me, Hannah, when I came to play with Hosty and Dieter at your home in Cornwall. What fun we had as boys. Thinking of you and sending my sincere condolences. Frank Marshall

Condolences on Dieter's passing. My wife & I, were in High School (CCVS) in Cornwall, Ontario....with Dieter.......He was a great guy & we loved his company.......

David applied for a position in my company back in 2013, within minuets of the interview I knew he was my guy, instant honesty and integrity it what comes to mind. In the years David worked for me he proved to be exactly that and more. His demeanor, attitude and sense of humor came across in whatever he did. It was an absolute honor working with him and he will be sorely missed. Wishing David's family and partner of 45 years Ed, deepest condolences. May his dear soul rest in peace.

Saddened tremendously by this news. Thanks for being a supportive member of my life, Dave. I hope your reunion with Bueford was one for the ages. Rest In Peace my friend. Ed, I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Uncle D, I LOVED you throughout my childhood and for many-Many-MANY years afterwards. Thank you for all the myriad of memories; some wonderful of my wildest and most crazy, especially in Vancouver in the 1980s. Remember four days in Las Vegas in 1985? You and Ed were a formidable team and I have missed you so much these last 25 years. I appreciate EVERYTHING you did for me! Debra ❤️

dear David, they call it a "witty" sense of humor, because that's polite. But you were simply nuts! You kept us laughing all the time! And of course when you started with your come-backs, Eddie started laughing and there was no stopping no more... You will be missed! for those who will remember: "tok, tok, huenchen, du hast ein Vogel!" Sleep well, dear friend! Luc, Eboulie and Amadou
