Ronald Byrrh Overholt

September 14th, 2022

Ron/Curly/Julio

It is with great sadness that we announce that Ronald Byrrh Overholt, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away with friends and family by his side on September 14, 2022 at the age of 74.

Ronald was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Marilyn; his parents Byrrh and Matilda; his sister Mary Ann Zipchian; his brother-in-law Ronald Zipchian; sister-in-law Rose Overholt; nephew Scott Overholt; and father-in-law Maurice Hebert.

Ronald is survived by his 3 children Roberta Richards, Robert (Samantha) and Richard;

His grandchildren Cassandra Overholt (Jeff), Kayla Overholt and Emma Overholt;

And also by his great-granddaughter Mikaila Marilyn Ron Overholt who held a very special place in his heart and had an unbreakable bond with.

Ronald also leaves behind his brothers Roger, Donald (Bernie) and David; as well as numerous nephews and nieces that all had a special place in his heart.

Ronald also said goodbye to his best friend Rob (Kathy) Thompson. Ronald and Rob were more than just friends, they were family and almost inseparable. Usually if you saw one, the other wasn't far behind.

Ronald, also known as Curly/Julio/Juli and yes, even the "Rifleman", will sadly be missed by all who knew him. He spoke fondly of the city crews that he worked with over the years, all of his work family at Mercury Earth Coring and NIS, his “Sherwood Forest” family and his “Sarnia Beach” family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services for all of their help in this time of mourning.

Sincerely, the Overholt Family

Messages:

We have many memories of Curly at the Sarnia Beach horseshoe tournaments. He loved family, friends, fishing and fun! Rest easy, Ron!

We met Ron at Sherwood Forest. We were saddened to hear about his passing. RIP Ron

I’ve worked with Ron many times over the years with Ed’s Backhoe Service. He taught me most of what I know about directional drilling. He was an encyclopedia of knowledge and experience, which he loved to share. He was quick with a joke and had no shortage of entertaining stories, and was always a pleasure to work with. My condolences to everyone in his family.

My deepest condolences to Ron's family. Ron was a good man and very good friend. I met Ron and worked with him with my 37 year career with the City of Regina and became very good friends with many good memories together. I introduced Ron to Sherwood Forest which he just loved and enjoyed many good times with his family and friends at his site. We also had many great times together in Puerto Vallarta with Ron and Marilyn. They really enjoyed the annual Sask Roughrider Party in Puerto Vallarta. Ron will be sadly missed but he left us with many good memories until we see him again.

So sorry to hear the sad news of Ron's passing. I only met him once when during our 2019 vacation to Canada. I'm a cousin to him. My late mother Lena nee Polowski was the sister of Ron's mother Tillie.

Ron or Julio was my boss. He was a great mentor and teacher. He will be dearly missed by all of the construction workers he talked and worked with. Always brang sausage and ribs from Ukrainian Co op to share with the guys. Condolences to julios family and friends

My deepest condolences to Ron's family at this difficult time. I am Ron's aunt (his Dad's sister). Living so far apart, I only saw Ron a few times over the years, but I have fond memories of him, especially as a little boy when his family lived with us for a few months here in Ontario. As I was a teenager at the time, he was like a little brother to me. Gone too soon. Love to all. Aunt Ann.

RIP cousin Ron. To the Overholt family I send my deepest sympathy.

So sorry for your loss, Its been years since I've seen Ron but I remember it was fun with him and all of our cousins from out West

My deepest condolences to my cousins in the loss of your Dad, Ron. Sending you all a big hug.

So sorry for your loss. Ron was a cousin of mine unfortunately we have not seen each other for many years due to distance. He will be remembered fondly.

I met Ron when we bought a place out at Sarnia. Met him through Roger and Todd and he became family to us. ❤️ Loved all the time we had together and I nicknamed him Beautiful. I never knew the Curly or Julio. I knew the beautiful soul of Ron. He is missed dearly and still doesn’t seem real. Condolences to all family and friends. ❤️

Our deepest condolences to Ron’s children, grandchildren and to his nieces, nephews and brothers. He was a border with us when he first met Marilyn and my best friend when we were younger, into are mid 20’s. Ron will be sorrowly missed by Marlene & myself. Rest In Peace Ron. Once again you will be with Marilyn.
