Duane “Keith” Hutchence, age 77 years, passed away peacefully on September, 30, 2022 surrounded by family, after a brief but aggressive battle against bladder cancer.

Keith was predeceased by his beloved second-wife Audrey (1994), mother Margaret (2000), father Andrew (2001), nephew Jesse (2015), and sister Heather (2016).

He is survived by his son Kai; his brother Deane; two estranged daughters Kama and Katrina; and step-daughters Georgia, Irene, and Rhonda.

Keith spent his entire life in Regina, SK and the farming community of Edenwold, SK. He attended Luther Collegiate and the University of Regina, earning a M.Sc. in Chemistry. He spent the most rewarding part of his career at the Saskatchewan Research Council. He was an avid (!) reader and book collector, with a passion for mysteries and science fiction.

A family viewing was held on Oct. 7, 2022. The family will hold a private remembrance service on the family farm in the spring of 2023. Thank you to the hard-working staff at the Pasqua Hospital.

Messages:

I didn’t hear about Keith’s passing away until December. I’m saddened. He was an enjoyable eccentric who delighted in “thinking outside the box.” I remember the kindness he gave me when I was as in need.

I have some very fond memories of Keith. He was friends with my mother Beverly. I remember him as always kind and supportive. As a child I enjoyed many motorcycle rides and playing with Churchy the pet turtle. When I would see him at University, he still called me by my childhood nickname (very cute) and he was kind enough to help me with some classes.

My deepest sympathies to Keith's family. I had many great conversations with him at the East Superstore, and I will miss him there. God give you strength.
