Verna Maier

June 21st, 2020

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Verna Maier on June 21, 2020 at the Long Lake Valley Integrated Facility in Imperial, Saskatchewan at the age of 89 years. Lovingly remembered by her children Bill, Sandra (Kent), MaryLou (Derwin), Gerry, Glen (Gaye), Don (Gayle), Tim, Rita (Randy), Jeff (Anitra); 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; grandson Adam; parents William and Margaret Dauk; siblings Wilfred, Catherine (Cae) and Rita.

Verna was born and raised in Annaheim, Saskatchewan and after teacher’s college moved to Holdfast where she met and married Peter and together raised their 9 children. After Peter’s passing in 1985 Verna moved to Regina. Her life’s work centered around her family. She was a great cook, loved nature and spending time outdoors working in her yard. Her love of music, books and painting continued well into her later years and our family treasures many of her works of art.

Mom left us quietly in the same manner she lived her life and she will be truly missed.

A very special thank you is extended to the staff at Long Lake Valley Integrated Facility who took such special care of Mom and filled her final days with kindness and compassion.

A private function will be held by the family in Celebration of Verna’s Life at a later date.

Messages:

To Verna's Family, my deepest sympathy at this sad and difficult time. I met Verna at St. Cecilia Church in Regina and we often stopped to chat before Mass. We also enjoyed chatting at aquacise classes. I know, without a doubt, that this lovely lady will be missed and she is at peace with our Lord in heaven.

Our deepest condolences to all of our Canadian cousins. I'm sure Verna received a warm welcome in heaven from her husband, brother, sisters, mom, dad and others.

Our deepest sympathy on your loss.

Sending all of you hugs and prayers ,now you all having a guardian angel watching over you.

My deepest condolences to your family

Our sympathy to the family! We have many good memories of Verna, a great lady!

Our sincere condolences to all of you, your Mom was a wonderful woman. I remember visiting at your house many times as a kid! May she Rest In Peace!

Our hearts and prayers are with you all at this heartbreaking time. My MAMA went home to Heaven almost 3 years ago and while the pain in my heart has lessened to bearable, not a minute goes by that I'm not missing her. May GOD bless you all in your time of grief.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I have so many great memories of her, from when we were growing up. Always such a kind, patient and competent woman...I can’t even fathom how she did that with all nine of you!

Our deepest sympathy to Mary-Lou on the loss of her Mom. Our sympathy to all her family.

Sorry to hear about your mother passing away. Condolences to your family. God bless and take care
