I was saddened to hear of Don's passing. Don and I officiated hockey together for more than ten years in the Regina Hockey Officials' Association, which was about 40 years ago! I can still remember his dry sense of humour and his loud booming voice. When he called a penalty on the ice, everyone in the building could hear him yell. In fact, he scared most of the players as well us those of us who worked with him! We always knew the games officiated with Don would be colourful and fun. Wonderful memories.
