Denis Steve Muehmel

June 7th, 2019

It is with broken hearts we announce the loss of Denis Steve Muehmel who passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the age of 60 years with his wife Wendy of 41 years by his side.

Denis leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Wendy; son Kurt (Nicki); grandson Kolten; daughter Kara (Marcus); grandchildren Tanner and Emily King; sister Doris (Murray) Coleman and family; brother Dan; mother-in-law Mabel Hopson; in-laws Jim (Brenda) Hopson, Carol (Paul) Maurice, Brian (Heather) Hopson, Bonnie (Gary) Graham and families.

He was predeceased by his mother Brigitte (June 2008) and father Wolfgang (December 2018).

Denis was employed by Redhead Equipment for the past 6 years. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, friend and mentor. He was a skilled handyman and there was never a time in his life where he didn’t have a project on the go in Regina or at his home away from home at Regina Beach. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it and will be enormously missed by all.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending summers at the lake with family and friends, cooking meals, golfing, carpentry and most of all golf cart rides with his grandkids who brought tremendous joy to his life.

There will be an informal Celebration of Life on Friday, June 14, 2019 beginning at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hall, 2026 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK, (please dress casually). In memory of his life a tree will be planted in the Memorial Forest at the Regina Beach Campground and in lieu of flowers, please give the gift of life by donating blood. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on various units at the Pasqua Hospital. A private burial for his immediate family will be held at a later date.

Messages:

Wendy and Family My heart goes out to you and your family on the passing of your husband & father, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Wendy, Kurt, Kara & families, We were so lucky to have been introduced to you back in the early 80’s by Scott & Carol when they thought we would make good camping partners. It’s hard to believe we met for the first time on the side of the hi-way with our campers and then headed off to Echo Lake. That was the start of many camping and snowmobiling trips and a great friendship! To think Denis & Royce became 1st time fathers within a month or so and then began our family get togethers playing cards and having a few beverages. There have been many good times spent and we will treasure those memories. Our thoughts are with you all and we are here for you.

I would like to extend my deepest condolences and thoughts to you and your family Wendy. Denis was an amazing person . He will be truly missed .

Wendy and family, we were sorry to hear about Denis' passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. With sincere sympathy, Kit & Lyle Swanton

Please know I am thinking about you in these tough times thinking of Denis will always put a smile on my face as he was a special person that I respected and was proud to say I knew.

Wendy and Family I am so sad to hear about Denis. He was a true friend. Even though our lives took different directions there isn't a week that goes by where something happens that reminds me of him and the crazy times when we were young and foolish. I will always be thankful that he was my friend. He has left me with some wonderful memories that I will never forget. I am feeling your pain. You have my sincere sympathy.

Our deepest sympathies. Hugs to you and your family

To Wendy, Kurt, Kara and family. We would like to Express our condolences and thoughts for you. As soon as we got the message we were filled with memories of all the help, friendship and genuine love from Denis and your family. We remembered the way you spoiled our kids at the beach and let them eat you out of house and home. How you trusted us with your daughter to help us one summer, and the what feels like millions of times Denis was willing to help Mike with vehicles. We remember seeing you at many of our family functions right up until the most recent one in September where we are so glad we got a hug and some conversation. We did not know at the time it would be our last. We hold Denis and family in our hearts and will miss him dearly.
