Ruth Emma Honecker

The family of Ruth Honecker of Mirror are sad to announce her passing on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Lacombe Hospital just 2 weeks short of her ninety-third birthday.
She was born in Handle, Saskatchewan, but moved to Alberta when she was 5.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by Helmut, her husband of nearly seventy years; her daughter, Mavis; sons, Marvin (Shirley) and Deryl; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Howey; her parents; her son, Homer; 5 siblings, and numerous in-laws.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lacombe Pentacostal Church on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:00PM and a private family inurnment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lacombe Pentacostal Church, or the The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 100, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6.

We are sad to hear of the passing of our great auntie Ruth. We are going to miss her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to great uncle Helmut, Deryl, Mavis, and Marvin during this difficult time.
I am saddened by Auntie's passing. She always held a special place in my heart. I remember the first time I met her and she welcomed me into the family with a hug in one arm and a bowl of pistachio salad in the other arm. That salad has become a favorite.
