Damon Rhys Meidinger (Evans)

June 23rd, 2020

It is with broken hearts that we are sharing the passing of Damon Rhys Meidinger (Evans).  He passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 26.

Damon was born on August 31, 1993 in Red Deer. He grew up there while also enjoying some time in Victoria, B.C. He loved working out and living an active lifestyle. He enjoyed camping with his son and loved nature. Whether hiking the trails to watch the sun come up or biking with his dog, Chica, he loved being active outdoors.

Damon was enjoying a new career in Well Testing.  He was a quick learner, motivated and very hard worker. He respected his co-workers and was excited about his future.

One of Damon’s biggest passions in life was music. He would often play the same song multiple times to listen closely to the lyrics.  The house was always full of his crazy singing and funny dance moves.

Damon had an uplifting personality and caring heart. He had a smile that would light up the room and an unforgettable laugh you couldn’t help but share.  His quick wit and sharp sense of humor always made everyone’s day brighter.

While still young at heart, Damon was a beautiful old soul.  He made many people very proud. His positive attitude, determination, desire and hope for a better life are a shining example of an amazing spirit taken too soon.

Damon was a loyal son and brother who always put his family first.  He was a kind and loving father who would do anything for his children.  He was the fun uncle who could always get a laugh.  He was a romantic soul who was lucky enough to have found a true and deep love in his girlfriend.  He was also a very supportive friend who would always help out in any way he could while always going the extra mile.  Many lives will be forever touched and changed through knowing him.

Damon began his heavenly journey on June 23, 2020 and is lovingly remembered by his two beautiful children, Colby and Nya Erfurt; his mother, Nancy Meidinger; his sister, Hailey and her husband, Mike Smith and their son, Lincoln; his girlfriend, Danielle Girard; and his brother, Travis McTavish; uncles and aunts, Trena Meidinger, Tiefi and Natalie Evans, Geri and Ruth Evans, Talfan Evans and Terry Lepine, Sian and Shawn McNaughton;  his cousins, Rhys and Lauryn Evans, Leah, Jordyn and Kyla Evans, Kalie, Evan & Ryan McNaughton, Brady Lepine, Paige Stopanski, Larissa and Derek Meidinger; grandparents, Ron and Jean Evans and Gary and Carol Meidinger; as well as many close friends.

He will be received by his loving stepfather, Rod Hiscock; his uncle, Troy Meidinger; his great-grandmother, Mary Meidinger; his cousin, Rhonda Auclair; other dear friends; and his dog, Osborne.

A Private Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

So sorry for your loss Nancy, in loving Damon he is remembered and in remembering him he is loved.

I knew Damon for a short while last month while he was staying down south. He wasn't the biggest guy but he sure had a big personality and a bigger heart. I had some some really good chats with him, and he had a big impact on me in the short time that I knew him. My life will certainly be better as a result of having him in it. Rest easy brother. You will be missed.

If I had a star for everytime you made me smile. The entire night sky would be lit for miles. Rest Peaceful Miss you forever Stacey
