Barry F.R. DeWindt

July 16th, 2020

June 2, 1947 - July 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Barry Frank Ronald DeWindt announce that he passed away peacefully at age 73 after a short stay at Rimbey Acute Care Facility.

Barry will be forever remembered by his wife of 51 years, Teresa DeWindt; along with their children, Brian (Amanda) DeWindt of Red Deer, Lori (Brad) Smith of Rimbey; his grand kids, Adrian and Vivienne Smith; his sister, Frances (Dan) Sponberg; and his brothers, Gerald (Jeannie) DeWindt, and Ronald (Jim Orr) DeWindt, all from Rocky. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Elruth DeWindt of Rocky.

For the majority of his life he ran a dairy farm near Alix. In the last few years, he had retired with his wife to their daughter's farm near Rimbey. It was here he got to spend time with his grandchildren and see his farming knowledge carry on. He loved fishing in the Clearwater, car shows and the wonders of nature around him.

Barry was a good man, excelling at any task he put himself to. Everyone who knew him saw a man of great intelligence, a will to help wherever he was asked and a sarcastic wit. There was nothing he could not do if he set his mind to it and he will be sorely missed by all.

A Private Memorial Service will be held in his memory at his home. Please send condolensces to warponyrider@gmail.com and they will be shared with the family.

Your legacy and lessons will live on in all of us, Barry. Rest in peace.
