Tim Elford

January 19th, 2020

Friends and family are grieving the loss of Tim Elford.  He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in January, 2020.

Tim was born and raised in B.C. and is survived by his loving parents Gary and Marilyn Elford, and his brother and best friend Corey Elford.

He leaves behind a close knit family; wife Barb and daughters Sheila Bouthillier (Dan), Laura DeLuca (Brinton), and Ashley Elford.  He was a doting grandfather to Elizabeth and Emilia Bouthillier, and Matteo DeLuca.  Tim will be fondly remembered by his many Cousins, Aunts, and Uncles.

His life’s passions were racing, cars and sports.  Watching hockey and NASCAR were a favorite pastime, as was attending as many races as he could.  He was well known in the local racing community and a long-time member of the B.C. Supershifters.

Tim was a business owner in Greendale, running Thunderhorse Garage for the last 15 years.  He had a large network of loyal friends and customers who he continued to spend time with at the Shop, even when he could no longer work.  Many enjoyable hours were spent there and at the race track with his Uncle Garry, Cousin Brett, and family.

Tim will be fondly remembered for his gentle nature, easy going attitude, witty dad-jokes, and infectious laughter.  He will be so greatly missed by all of his friends and family.

Those wishing to join the celebration of Tim’s life are welcome at the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club, 41894 Yale Rd. W, Chilliwack BC V2R 4J3 on Saturday February 1st, 2020, 3 pm – 6 pm.

Messages:

My sincere condolences to you Barb and the family. Tim was the definition of a nice guy in my mind. It was a pleasure to know him and always a pleasant experience doing business with him.

Both Dave and I are at a loss for words to see Tim pass so early in life. This is a terrible shock and our heart goes out to Barb and their family. We remember Tim fondly for his quick wit and kind heart. We hope today’s Celebration of Life will provide some comfort for the tough days ahead.

Tim was more than a Customer to me, as he would take the time for a pleasant visit if I dropped by unannounced when in the area at my Dads Farm in Greendale, My Condolences to the Elford & extended Family. Catfish Potesta , Langley, BC

We were devastated to hear of Tim’s passing, as we were not even aware he was sick. Our hearts go out to Barb and the kids, and sincere condolences go out to his whole family. We will be at the celebration of his life, to honour him and share our fond memories we have of Tim.

Very sorry to hear of Tim’s passing- he was always great to chat. As a fellow business owner we had fun talking about the ups and downs of automotive repair. So sorry for the families loss.
