Tracy Ann Grouette

July 6th, 2022

With heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of our beautiful daughter and sister Tracy Ann Grouette on July 6th, 2022, in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Tracy was born in Midland, Ontario on March 9th, 1982, attended Midland Secondary School and ventured West shortly, thereafter, living in Victoria, Vancouver, and eventually settling in the lower Mainland.

She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her mother, Margaret Grouette; adoring sisters Shawna Grouette (Art) and Janine Kocurek (Brad); and brother Jason Grouette (Trish). Tracy is predeceased by her father Leon Grouette, and grandparents Ken and Mary Bebee, and Alfred and Leontine Grouette. A proud Auntie, Tracy was loved by her many nieces and nephews Alexander, Daph, Sierra, Dawson, Avery, Libby, Molly, and Zoe.

She was a gifted artist. From painting to home decor, to retail window displays, Tracy had a keen eye and was able to put her style into action. Tracy loved spending time with family and friends, reading, doing crafts, organizing, and drinking coffee. She was never one to be silent when it mattered, Tracy stood up for what she believed to be right, and with an incredible moral compass for right and wrong. Tracy had a big heart that radiated kindness and generosity to everyone. She recently gave the shoes off her feet to a homeless person, and this was only one of her many acts of kindness and compassion.

She was an empathetic soul, who spent a great deal of time caring for our mother, calling her daily to check in, and enduring countless defeats in Skipbo. Tracy graduated with honours from the HCA program at Camosun College. She recently worked as a Health Care Aid, Home Health Care Provider, and a Customer Service Agent supporting COVID-19 and vaccination inquiries. She enjoyed giving over receiving, was a consummate professional, and cared deeply for her patients, family, and friends.

In health, Tracy faced more challenges than one should ever face in a lifetime. Despite a regimen of doctors, treatments, and medications these challenges impacted every part of her life, every day.

For those wishing to contribute to Tracy’s legacy, please consider giving to the BC Mental Health Foundation who help to further the important work of caring for vulnerable British Columbians or to Project Semicolon for all whose story isn’t over, and who will benefit from supportive and reliable information that could change their life.

We will be holding a Celebration of Tracy on July 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at 11121 Calypso Lane, North Saanich.
