Dale Howard Lloyd Grant

April 26th, 2020

Dale Howard Lloyd Grant was born in 1954 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away peacefully at home in Abbotsford, BC on April 26, 2020 at the age of 65. Son of Mary Scott (née Goller) and Edgar Grant, Dale moved to Abbotsford at a young age with his parents and siblings. It is here that Dale called home for the majority of his life.

At the young age of 18 he began dating his bride-to-be, Dorothy (née Kohnen), with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage last August 2.

He will be dearly missed by Dorothy; their children, Monica, Tammy (Rod), Cynthia (Michael); grandchildren, Braden, Isabella and Emilia; siblings, Wayne, Dwight and Lorna; his in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

He is predeceased by his parents; siblings, Eunice, Iona, Faith, and Marvin; and baby daughter, Angela.

He has served as a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1991, including two years as Grand Knight. He volunteered much of his spare time supporting his local community at events such as Airshow, Agrifair, various parades, preparing Christmas hampers, and many others. He could often be found at the bowling alley or curling rink, where he was a member of many teams over the years.

He will be remembered for his MacGyver-like skills, his willingness to help whenever needed, his sense of humour, his cowboy boots, his love of music and everything outdoors, and his unrelenting love for his family.

A private Catholic funeral service was held on May 4, 2020. A party celebrating Dale’s life will be held on a future date.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.
