Pat Ford

Pat died peacefully from cancer at Peace Arch Hospital in January 2020.

Pat was born in Toronto in 1948 to Cora and Fred Dyson. She attended Trafalgar Elementary and Prince of Wales Secondary schools in Vancouver. After high school graduation she attended  the UBC Faculty of Education graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Education. After graduation Pat loved her profession and loved teaching all ages.  Pat was always gratified to help students of all ages, especially all those struggling to enjoy learning.  She was a long time resident of Ocean Park,  Surrey. 

Pat is survived by her husband Gordon, son Stephen [with Alice Meyers], son Aaron John, son  David [with  Katey Sater],  brother Jim [with Ingrid Dyson],  and sister Mary-Ann Dyson [ with Frank Pronk].  She is also survived by her brother in law Bob Ford  [with Ida], brother in law Stan Ford , and sister in law Sharon Ford, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Nancy Ford, Linda Ford,  Elisabeth Brace , Ingrid Ford, Grace Ford , Cathy Dyson , Heather Dyson, Dallas Ford and Tracy Vasquez, and their families.  Pat was the Honourable Aunty to many children and youth.   She was loved and will certainly be missed.

The Memorial Service is to be at 2pm on Saturday January 18, 2020 at Peninsula United Church Ocean Park, Surrey B.C. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Peninsula United Church ,The  Callanish Society in Vancouver or the charity of your choice.

I was so sad to hear of Pat’s passing. My deepest condolences to Gordon, Steve, Aaron John, Dave and the entire family.

We always enjoyed our interactions with Pat over the years. She was so upbeat, engaging, and fun to be around, no matter what was going on in her life. Our sincere sympathy to all the family.

I am so sad to read of Pat’s passing. She was the most wonderful teacher at Chantrell Creek Elementary School, my kids loved her so much. She was kind, patient, funny and always had time to chat. My sincere condolences to the Ford family, may you all find the strength to tuck her beautiful memories under your arm and move forward in the coming days ahead. Some people make the world more special , just by being in it, that was Pat ❤️❤️❤️

I'm sorry for your loss Gordon. I remember Pats bright smile, the flowers she always brought to the office during tax season and the joy she radiated whenever she was around. She will be missed.

Dougal and I send our deep condolences to Gordon and Pat's families. We so enjoyed Pat's optimism and bright spirit as we raised our children and shared many social and business occasions together. May she rest in peace.

Pat was such a great person and I was fortunate to go to both elementary and secondary school with her. Always lots of fun, positive, smiling. I know she will be missed .

Pat was always upbeat and a great story teller . Such a loss for her family and community. My heartfelt condolences to the family .
