John Kenneth Calvert
May 21, 1947 - December 24, 2022

John passed away peacefully in The Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House after a long battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon, sister Betty Clarke, children, Terri (Andrew), Linda (Darren), Steven (Marina) and 5 grandchildren, Josie, Quinn, Owen, Nathan, and Chloe.

John worked for 35 years as a Stock Keeper for CP Air, then Canadian Airlines and then Air Canada :) He was grateful to travel with Sharon and family to many destinations including his favourite, Hawaii.

After retirement, John enjoyed volunteering as a driver for the 2010 Olympics. He was a long time BC Lions fan and enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren either by coaching or as a spectator in their sports or other interests. He loved watching many sports on TV and was always up for a party with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richmond Food Bank Society which was his favourite charity.

Terri, Andrew, Josie and Quinn My condolences and love to all of you, during this difficult time

Sincere condolences…I was so very sorry to read of John’s passing. Sharon, it was always fun to see you and John at grandkids’ activities at Byng School or BBall games. All the memories you have…keep them close and cherish them…they will bring you comfort. My thoughts are with you.

Our sincere sympathies for your loss. I have many fond memories of John starting from elementary school until we lost touch as we married and started our own families. A gentleman, a friend and a great loss.

Rest in peace John. John and Ben DeKoster were my first shift partners at CP Air in 1969. Even then John was a great Lions booster, especially Dirty 30 Jimmy Young. Great friendships in those days working the 3 shifts. Please remember the good times with John, my sincere condolences to Sharon and the entire family.
