Beverly Ann Fitzpatrick

October 26th, 2022

In Loving Memory of:
Beverly Ann Fitzpatrick

It is with great sadness we mourn and announce the passing of Beverly Ann Fitzpatrick, age 53. Beverly passed peacefully with her parents at her side on October 26, 2022. Beverly was born in Vancouver Grace Hospital and grew up and lived in Coquitlam, British Columbia.  She is survived by both her parents, Raphael, and Winifred Fitzpatrick along with her younger brother Raph Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law Jennifer Fitzpatrick (nee Murphy), niece and nephews; Faith Beverly Ann Fitzpatrick, Declan Fitzpatrick, and Gabe Fitzpatrick; her God parent Edna Pardy and all her aunts, Uncles & Cousins near and far.

Beverly loved life, to laugh and have fun. She liked to get all dolled up and have nice clothes. Beverly was a perfectionist and liked everything neat and tidy; whether it be her appearance, her handwriting, or her bedroom, she always wanted everything just so. Even near the end of her life a speck of lint in the wrong place was not tolerable
Beverly was quite talented, although modest. She was a great artist who was good at drawing; and surprisingly a good athlete, who could run extremely fast but unfortunately did not like to sweat, because that’s “gross”.

Beverly loved to dance and just have fun with friends and was extremely beautiful. She was built like a super model standing 6 foot tall with a smile that could brighten the sky on the darkest night and her eyes would twinkle like stars. The world was her oyster and boys were in awe and in hot pursuit.

Beverly graduated with honours from Centennial Senior Secondary in June 1987 and worked at Acklands Grainger as a clerk for a short period of time until the fall of 1987.
Unfortunately, on November 11, 1987, Beverly was in a horrific car accident that forever changed both her and the lives of her family and several others in tragic ways, especially her parents.  Beverly barely survived the crash and suffered a severe brain injury and paralysis of her right side. Unfortunately, countless compounding mishaps in the hospital massively contributed to debilitating life altering additional health issues. Beverly was a shadow of her former self. Beverly stayed in the hospital initially for a year with her family at her side. There were many great compassionate healthcare staff going above and beyond to help her before she came home and thereafter throughout her past 35 years.  Beverly has been selflessly cared for by her parents for the past 35 years in their home. Her parents have dedicated their life to her care 24/7. They did everything humanly possible to provide the best possible care, sparing no sacrifice to ensure the highest possible quality of life.

Beverley’s Family would like to thank all of the special healthcare workers that had a part in Bev’s life and did take the time to show compassion and help Beverly over the past 35 years. Not all people are created equal, but there are some special people out there that can, and do, make a world of difference

Beverly would frequently sing with Dad, while he was playing an instrument, “You are my sunshine” and this would always bring a smile to our faces and a tear in our eyes.

Beverly, you will always be our sunshine and forever loved.
