It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sidney Littlewood with his family by his side on July 4th, 2022. Sid was born November 6, 1933 in Edmonton, Alberta.

When Sid was 7 years old his family moved to Rossland, BC where he grew up. His first job was at 12 years old delivering telegrams then at 18, he began his career with CP Rail which he worked for 38 years. After retirement he worked 11 years for the Commissionaires at Celgar and Castlegar Airport.

Sid met the love of his life Thoreen at the Trail Armouries and they married in 1959. They had 5 children; Dan, Linda, Steven, David and Wendy.

Sid and Thoreen had 61 years loving years together where they travelled to Mexico, Alaska, drove across Canada and went on numerous train trips. They also camped all over Canada and usually took other family members with them.

Sid is survived by his daughters Linda and Wendy (Lee), grandchildren Jace (Hunter) and Zoe (Derick), sister Patricia Birch (Surrey) and sisters-in-law Helen Basso (Kamloops) and Dorene Schneider (Trail). He was predeceased by his wife Thoreen in 2020, sons; Dan, Steven and David, sisters; Alice, Nellie and Heather, brother-in-law Ed and sister-in-law Ethel.

Sid enjoyed the little more than 2 years at Columbia View Lodge. He made friends with everyone. And had some very dear ones as well. The whole gang at Columbia View Lodge went above and beyond to make Sid feel at home. Thank you all.

Sid made family a priority and was always there for them. Sid touched every person he met. He had the most generous heart and always thought of everyone. He truly was one of a kind.

Dear Wendy and family So sorry to hear about Sid. Your Dad was such a nice man, kind, friendly and a gentleman. Glad that we got to know your Mom and Dad and have them for our neighbours for a few years. Take care and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, Larry and Sharon Rivait Brentwood Bay, BC

Sorry to hear the passing of your dad. He was " one of a kind ", with a heart to match. Making sure that everyone had a lunch or supper or both no matter where you were. Always caring for everyone, he will be missed big time! RIP Sid.

Gilbert and I are sad of the passing of Sid. Such a great man. Many Blessings to all.

We will dearly miss your dad, as we do your mom. There is a saying, Never mistake kindness for weakness. Sid was an example that you can be very kind and very strong at the same time. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Sid was a great man. I remember being a young kid and thinking he was one of the funniest guys I ever met (and I had some crazy peoplein my family). Always so kind and generous. My condolences go out to Wendy, Linda and the rest of the family. RIP Sid. Find the best Deli in the sky, I will be expecting some kind of smoked deli meat when I get there.

I will miss Sid's jokes and his wonderful attitude and outlook on life, He made the most of his. Condolences to all his family and friends who will miss him.

Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family. Sid will always be treasured and missed.

We will miss Uncle Sid so badly. He was a light in all our lives with delightful stories and a million "Dad Jokes". He always had a coffee pot or cup o tea ready and many biscuits n cookies n treats being offered. He made you feel at home every time you stopped by. He asked questions and wanted to know about your lives and always shared a laugh. What a fantastic example of a man, a parent, a relative and a good human. All the Best Uncle Sid. Much love.

Love and hugs to you all! Such a great loss to the community and family alike. Sid was always so generous with his time and snacks! If we were all half as generous as Sid, there would be no hunger in the world. He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and neighbor. Anyone who had the privilege to know him was lucky indeed.

Wendy, So sad. Will always have fond memories of your mom and dad taking all of us kids to Evans lake etc. So very sad it is without your mom's cheerful laugh.

Rick & I are so sorry for your loss.

One of a Kind Gentleman! Thank you for sharing your lovely Father!

Wendy, we are so very, very sorry to hear that you have lost your Dad. Sending hugs to you and your family at this difficult time.
