Lionel Jacob Fladager

February 1st, 2021

April 18, 1932 – February 1, 2021

Lionel, affectionately known as Curly slipped away peacefully February 1, 2021 with his biggest fan by his side.

Survived by children Denise Maundrell, Darrell Fladager, Rick Fladager, Val Verbeek and their families. Predeceased by loving wife Kay in 2003.

Dad wore many hats and was a Jack of ALL Trades. He worked numerous jobs over the years between Edmonton, Port Alberni and Armstrong, making many friends and fishing buddies along the way.

After retirement, he and mom travelled to the country in “the van” which he spent hours tinkering with and fine tuning for their next adventure. They were happy wherever the road took them, near or far.

Dad’s next phase of life was spent in care homes, the last being Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong.

Thank you to all of the staff on Patten for being his friends, dance partners and family especially during this past year.

We will all miss his smile and his love of simply holding a hand. Rest in Peace Dad.

A private interment will be held at a later date.

Messages:

Rest in peace dad, you will be missed.

We loved to see Lionel at the manor. He seemed to always recognize us in his own way. A hand hold and a smile was always there. Fishing, working at the brick school and talking grandchildren always brought a light to his eyes. Lionel was always such great company when I first started teaching at the school. His wonderful smile gave courage to so many. We are so sorry for your loss. Take care. Len and Heather Ramsey
