Michael David Camplin

January 28th, 2019

Michael passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 28th. He leaves in body but never in spirit his spouse Kimberlea, his four children Kimberly, Christy, Jackie and Mitch, his two stepchildren Jazlyn and Graycen, and his siblings, twin sister Michelle, Catherine, Issac and Warren.

Michael was born in Sacramento, California and grew up across the United States before moving to Campbell River at age 14. There, he excelled as a local athlete and began his 45-year career with the Overwaitea Food Group, a career which took him across B.C. before he settled in White Rock.

Michael will be remembered for his integrity, strength, kindness and leadership in all aspects of his life, his community spirit and his unrelenting selflessness. He will also be remembered fondly as “Coach Mike” for his dedicated mentorship in youth softball.

His Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 9th from 1:00-5:00pm at Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club (18150 8th Avenue, Surrey). In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the BC. Cancer Foundation or by paying it forward to help a child in need - whether it be funds to participate in a sport or educational activity, or by being a supportive mentor.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence for the family.

Messages:

We were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We worked with him many years ago and ran into him from time to time after that. He fought a hard battle. Always in your hearts. Sincerely, Ed & Leah Perrett Unfortunately we are unable to attend the funeral but are sending our condolences and respect for Mike along to his family.

My condolences to Mikes family. Mike. It was my pleasure to be part of your team on two occasions. Your dedication to helping everyone achieve their goals and your sense of humor made days a pleasure. You will be missed.

Mike, I will always remember your witty sense of humour and how you loved to play jokes on me. I recall the day I received a call and when I asked whose this ... I got “ Mike”. I said “ hey Camplin” ( cause you always called me by my last name)....how’s it going... the response.. it’s not Camplin. I said” ok Camplin... got lots to do.. haha what do you want.. the reply is “ it’s Mike Olson”. OMG!!... but you always got me!! Sad to hear of your passing... you were a good friend- always looked forward to seeing you at Leaders. You will be missed.. RIP my friend. Colleen Keller

My thoughts are with you at this time. Mike will be remembered by many of us at Save On Foods for his coaching and mentoring; he was an integral part of our company history and helped get us to where we are today. Thank you Mike for being here for us and thank you to Mike's family for all of the support you showed him along the way.

Mike, I will always remember the first days of working with you when I just transferred from Merritt BC down to Richmond, Terra Nova store for my first full time position. You were a mentor from day number one and I respect how you managed your people in store, always very understanding and empathetic of every bodies different situations. Gone to soon, you're a good man, see you again one day. Marcel Mihura
