Dana Stary was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on November 22, 1924 and died peacefully at home in Agassiz, BC on October 30, at a time of her choosing. Dana arrived in Canada as a refugee in 1952 and strongly valued her new country, her independence and care of the natural environment. She is survived by her sons Peter and David and their families.
Remembering Dana <3 In the 1990s I worked for Agassiz-Harrison Community Services. Dana was the Monday driver for our Meals on Wheels program, picking up a cooler(s) of hot meals and delivering them all around our area to seniors and others in need of healthy food and a kind person to check in on them. Dana was friendly, dependable, dedicated, independent, and not afraid to share her opinions, and I enjoyed chatting with her. She was passionate about caring for our environment and making our world a better place. Rest easy, Dana.
