Sadly we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Aimee Stensrud, at the age of 91, on December 29, 2020.
Aimee was born in Radville, Saskatchewan to Louis and Sophie Verot. She was raised in a farming family with four brothers. In 1948, she married Hank Stensrud and in 1957 they left Saskatchewan and moved to Salmo, BC. Her life was spent in the home that she and Hank built together, raising her sons, creating beautiful quilts, knitting outfits for babies, baking cookies and cream puffs for her grandchildren to devour and being an active member of her community through the Catholic Church.
Aimee was predeceased by her husband Hank; brothers Peter, Paul and Leon Verot; sisters-in-law Alexina, Malvina and Mary Verot, Elsie Owre and brother-in-law Ben Owre. She will be missed by her family; sons John (Debbie) and Barry (Linda) Stensrud; twin brother, Alphonse Verot; sister-in-law Bernie Verot; grandchildren Gordon (Steph) Stensrud, Mark (Alana) Stensrud and Patty (Jason) Nazaroff; great-grandsons Mason, Carter, Trevor and Dylan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at both Columbia View Lodge and Rosewood Village for their kindness and care.

John and Deb...so sorry for your loss. Hope you find pleasure and peace in your memories.
I met your Mother at Rosewood where my Mother Eleanor was also living, they shared a table for lunch and dinner. She was a beautiful person, so kind, gracious and caring. I always enjoyed our chats at the manor, when she was out shopping and I ran into her and the times after my Mother passed and I went to visit her. My condolences to your families, may all the special memories of your most special Mom help you through the difficult times.
