LOWE, Trudy Leigh

December 5, 1966 - April 30, 2022

Trudy Lowe passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 55.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Mike; her two precious sons, Connor and Evan; her mother, Audrey; her brother, Randy; niece, Kaitlyn; nephew, Cameron; her sister, Anita (Dave); and nieces, Aurora and Marielle (Ian). Trudy also leaves behind a large extended family and a large circle of friends who will miss her deeply.

She was predeceased by her father, John; and her brother, Wesley.

Trudy was born in Calgary and grew up in Nanaimo, BC before she returned to Calgary and began what turned into a 34-year career at 7-Eleven where her natural leadership abilities shone.

Trudy was an avid scrap booker as she believed in preserving all of her memories. Most will fondly remember her beautiful hand-crafted Christmas and birthday cards that she loved to make. She also enjoyed travelling and was very fond of camping. Over the last two years, she loved hiking in Kananaskis Country and the mountain parks of Banff, Jasper and Yoho. Of course, this created more opportunities for scrap booking pages.

Trudy was extremely generous with her time and gave hundreds of hours to groups such as the Chestermere Community Play School where she served on the board of directors as secretary. She was also involved with the 1st Chestermere Scout group where she served as the group registrar and later as one of the leaders. She also was very active in her sons’ schools and would spearhead fund raising efforts for school band trips to Ottawa and Maui. In all of these roles, she was usually the first person to offer her time.

At this time, the family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Jan Henning, the staff at Unit 47 of the Foothills Hospital and the incredible staff at Agape Hospice for their love, care and compassion.

A Celebration of a Life well lived will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Main Hall of the Chestermere Recreation Centre at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5 or to the CIBC Run for the Cure, https://support.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=28087&pg=pfind&donate=true . (#teamtrudy)
