Cameron John McKinley

February 21, 1966 to November 15, 2021

It is with heavy, heavy hearts that we say goodbye to the youngest member of our clan. Cameron is survived by siblings, Jim (Connie), Sheila (Gerry), Lori (Rob), Faye (Al), Michael and predeceased by Mom (Linda) and Dad (Patrick) McKinley. He is survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss Uncle Cam ever so dearly, as well as his best friend Mark and companion Rose, and his special friends Lloyd and Val. Cameron was one of the most kind, honest, humble, and soft spoken beauty of a human you could ever meet. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always mindful of others. He was a gifted athlete and loved playing hockey, lacrosse, and golf. We will miss this quiet man of his word, his integrity, and his love and concern for others. Our lives will be deeply void without our dearest Cameron (Nipper). We hope you are resting well before your next heavenly crib/solitaire games with our loved ones. Rest in love, little brother, uncle, and friend we love you to the moon and back, and you will always be in our fondest memories. The family would like to thank the Rockyview emergency staff for their compassion and kindness. There will be no Service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cam’s name may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta, T2N 4N2.

Messages:

Dearest Cameron, It’s taken me a while to bring this poem I wrote and dedicated to you, to this page. We are still in shock and disbelief with your passing but I know you would want us to live our best lives. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending the bluebird as a messenger to let us know you made it to the next part of your journey, that meant the world to us. I am forever grateful that I had the honour to be your older sister, to share the time we were given. I will forever be inspired by your grace, honesty, integrity and the natural abundance of kindness and love you have always carried in your heart. Rest in love, dearest brother, until we meet again. I will forever carry you and your memory in my heart. Bluebird Ode to My Sweet Brother Cameron, Today I saw a bluebird, Sitting in my tree, It came to send a message, That you are now pain free, You made it to the heavens, Soaring high way up above, Surrounded by our family, And all the people that we love, You earned your wings so early, From this earthly world of ours, You have filled our hearts with memories, We will find you in the stars, I know you sent this bluebird, To help us live without you here, To appreciate earth’s nature, To spread joy, and hope, and cheer, Every time I see a bluebird, I will think of you and smile, I will notice wonder in the smallest things, To make your gift worthwhile.

Dear Cameron: There's no words to begin to express how much we love and miss you. Because you were taken from us so suddenly, we didn't get the chance to tell you how much you mean to us. We know your in a better place and free of the pain and suffering that you were enduring. Your one of the most courageous people we know and we truly admire that quality about you. Rest in peace Cameron. You'll always be in our hearts, now and forever. This blessing is for you. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Lovingly remembered by Faye and Al

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Cameron. He was a wonderful man and a loving husband of many years. Even after we lived apart, we would keep in touch a couple times a year. It was sad to see him go so soon. He is now with our Lord and Savior in comfort.
