Messages:

We are so saddened to hear of Don’s passing. Us at Senior Golf here in Didsbury miss him and the twinkle in his eye. Our deepest sympathy to Verna and his family.

I am so sorry to hear of Don's death. He was a 1st cousin once removed. We met when he and the "McMillan Group" visited Nova Scotia 19 years ago . What a fun few days we had! I think of him often.

Dear Verna and Doug, so sorry for your loss. We knew Don from golfing and garage sales :) and, of course from his volunteering with the Friends of the Library. His was a life very well lived - his contributions to so many facets of our community will be missed. But even more, we will miss his smile, the twinkle in his eye, and his kind sense of humour. Love, Brian and Inez

We are saddened on the passing of Don. We enjoyed his humour and his great hospitality for our Maple Creek group days at his place and the golf. To Doug and Verna - we extend our condolences. Perhaps, sometime in the future we hope to meet to celebrate Don's life well lived.

I had the pleasure of working for Don at Foothills Gas Co-op. He was a character to say the least. I owe Don my career at Ste Anne. He taught me some of the best non-PC jokes I know! You are a Gentleman and a Scholar Mr. MacMillan!!

I really enjoyed playing golf with Don and his son.To play at Muirfield on a terrible day and still make the most of the day epitomizes the fortitude and happiness you both displayed. We will think of you on the Golf tour this year.

We frequently played cards with Don & Verna, although not during the last couple of years. We will miss Don and his sense of humor. Gail will miss the hugs and Mike the friendly competition. Verna our thoughts and prays are with you, and if you need anything (especially a good listener) please call.

Our condolences and prayers during this difficult time. We always enjoyed the hospitality and efforts he put into our Maple Creek gatherings in his backyard and later at the golf club.

I am 70 years old and I knew don my whole life. The last time I saw him was in medicine hat at the antique show. My maiden name was Reardon. Sorry for your loss verna.

I have had the pleasure of golfing with Don and his son, Doug, on many occasions on our Big Country Golf Tour for the past several years. Truly a great person, and very competitive I might add! I will miss enjoying a beverage or two with him and Doug at the 19th hole, and listening to some of his stories. Doug, I know how close you were to your Dad, and we all look forward to playing golf with you on our "Big Country Golf Tour" for many years to come!

I was shocked. I used to ask Don how he stayed so young. Every time I was at the golfédinner get togethers, I used to ask Don why we all seem to age but he stays the same. So sorry to hear of his passing. He will be in my prayers.

Sincere condolences to Verna and his family. I golfed and bowled with him. He was fun to play with and always a gentleman. He was always most positive and supportive of Big Country Seniors Sports Society and Alberta 55 plus. He will be missed.
