Diane Delaurier Zdep

June 2, 1945 - Jan 23, 2019

Diane was born in Fort Frances, Ontario to Albert and Engeline Delaurier and moved out to Calgary with her husband and young family in 1968.

Diane was a talented business woman who went from working in her husband’s print shop to owning and operating a wedding store, to being a successful and sought after manager for several brand name stores. In her spare time Diane enjoyed using her embroidery and craft skills to make a multitude of projects for family and friends. Diane also enjoyed using her talents by contributing to various service groups with her hand crafted donations. She had a deep sense of appreciation for being blessed with the ability to purchase the equipment and supplies necessary to make the items that were used to bless others. It gave her a lot of joy and she had so much fun finding new patterns to try.

She was predeceased by Bill, her husband of 47 years; her parents; her sister Mary Ann Dutka; and brother Romeo. Diane is survived by her brother James (Sylvia); her children Barry (Linda) and Tracee (Duncan); her grandchildren Adam and Nicole; and her brother in-law David.

Her faith in God was an important part of her life, and because of that, her family takes comfort that they will see her again.

Messages:

I was fortunate enough to meet Diane when she came to help the ladies at Cedarwood Station. I was able to purchase a beautiful afghan for my granddaughter for her 21st birthday. It was of musical instruments and musical notes. She will treasure it all her life. It allowed me to give Tyra a unique gift which I will always be grateful for. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rest in peace. Linda

Fond memories come to mind when we think of Diane who was such a vibrant part of the life of Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church. She was so contributing of her God given talents, always had a smile and kind word for people and willing to pitch in whenever she could. It is hard to imagine life without her and we both send our deepest condolences.

So sorry to hear of Diane's sudden passing. Many fond memories from Fort Frances days. Double dates, etc. as well as stays with her and Bill during Stampede. Lately computer messaging to keep in touch. Sandy

We were so sorry to hear of Diane’s sudden passing. The years that she and her husband were members at our church they were always so willing to share their talents, especially Diane’s decorating skills. Our Women’s Auxiliary group were blessed with her beautiful contributions to our craft table at bazaars and teas. Rest In Peace, Diane. Ann and Ralph Lundberg
