Messages:

We were very saddened to hear of Helen's passing. It was not that long ago that we were going to see the tulip festival. I phoned several times, and should have followed up sooner, but I thought Helen was out gambling or going to breakfast at Jo Jo's. Helen came to the Co-op to meet several of us for breakfast on Saturdays, and would sometimes drive over to Langley Casino after breakfast. She was always a winner, and when I went with her, I was always the loser. I remember one time at Langley with about 300 people there that Helen won the best of about 5 prizes given out that night. She knew she would win, and it was another free dance and dinner. She came out in the spring last year and past years to help put the garden in and bring some garlic. Last fall, we took a bag of vegetables from our garden for her as she liked to can fruit and veggies. Helen came out to have Christmas and Thanksgiving with us for several years, and always brought her wine. This past year she didn't come, but we took in a Christmas dinner. She also enjoyed Lynn's January Christmas party and we finally had our January birthday party in February at the Chinese smorgasbord restaurant that Helen liked. We will miss the good times we had with Helen. The kids will miss her, too. She was a wonderful lady who we will always fondly remember.
