LEAMING, Loretta (nee Neustaeter)

August 25, 1965 – July 30, 2021

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Loretta Leaming (nee Neustaeter) on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 55 years.

Loretta will be forever cherished in the hearts of her daughters, Angelea Leaming (Bryce Sweetman) and Laura Leaming; grandchild, Jasper Sweetman; her partner, Chuck Oldale; parents, Nettie and Dave Neustaeter, brother, Eldon Neustaeter (Shannon); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved nephew, Jordan; and many other relatives that played an important role in her life.

Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and raised throughout Ontario, Manitoba and finally settling in Calgary, Alberta just before her 14th birthday. Loretta spent the remainder of her life living in Alberta where she met many friends including her former husband, Mark Leaming. As a child, Loretta’s biggest aspiration was to be a mom. In 1993 her dream came true with the arrival of Angelea and again in 1995 with Laura.

If you couldn’t find Loretta when she was younger, she as likely riding riding bikes, roller skating or swimming with her cousins and friends. Given her choice, Little House on the Prairie, CHiPs or CSI would be on the TV and Shaun Cassidy or Shania Twain would be on the stereo. Loretta’s love of the ocean fueled her desire of going on a cruise and for her 50th birthday she finally set sail.

Loretta loved fiercely and deeply. The universe has lost a radiant light and she touched the lives of many people.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the

Didsbury Memorial Complex, multi purpose room.
