January 12th, 2021

It is with great sadness we say goodbye to Lana Bacon. On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, Lana Marie Bacon, at the age of 56 years, passed away peacefully at her home in Airdrie, Alberta, with her family by her side.

Lana will be forever remembered and loved by her husband of 28 years; her son; her daughter; two grandchildren; her mother; her mother-in-law; two sisters; one brother; a sister-in-law and; a brother-in-law; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Lana was predeceased by her father; brother-in-law; and a very special cousin, all awaiting her arrival. Our loss is their gain.

Lana was born on May 6, 1964, in Lloydminster. After High School graduation, Lana launched a successful 38-year career as a hairstylist; 24 years were in Airdrie.

It was her commitment to helping others that will be her enduring legacy. Lana was a knowledgeable stylist in Airdrie. Her passion for her career was infectious. Lana made her staff feel fulfilled and motivated, which led them to their own success. Her optimistic attitude, her professionalism, and kindness were lifelong traits that made a difference.

In the Airdrie hair industry, Lana will always be a legend, especially to those who were lucky enough to work with her. Lana held her clients dear to her heart and enjoyed watching families grow in her chair. She will be dearly missed.

Lana leaves behind a legacy of love that will carry on in all who knew and loved her, and we will think of her with laughter and tears, knowing that she is in a better place!

A Private Family Celebration of Lana’s Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to express thanks for the help and care given by Tom Baker doctors, nurses, and the Palliative Care team in Airdrie. If desired, you may make a memorial tribute on behalf of Lana to a cancer charity of your choice.

Love you with all my heart Lana and thank you for the amazing life we enjoyed together! Always your husband!!

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me; By David M. Romano; - - When tomorrow starts without me, and I am not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me, I know how much you love me as much as I love you, And each time you think of me I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand, That Jesus came and called my name and took me by the hand. He said that my place is ready in heaven far above, And that I have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye, For all my life I’d always thought it wasn’t my time to die. I had so much to live for and so much yet to do, It seems almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had. If I could have stayed for just a while, I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realise that this could never be, For emptiness and memories would take the place of me. And when I thought of wordly things that I would miss tomorrow, I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through heaven’s gate and felt so much at home, As God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne. He said “This is eternity, and all I’ve promised you, Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew.” “I promise no tomorrow but today will always last, And since each day’s the same here there’s no longing for the past.” So when tomorrow starts without me don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me I’m right here in your heart.

So very sorry to receive this news. My young family and I had just accepted a transfer and relocated from Vancouver to Fort St. John, B.C during 1993. I was in need of a haircut, walked into Phoenix stylists in Fort St John and came face to face with Lana. We had a Lloydminster reunion. Lana was two years behind me in school and was my brother Colin's grad partner. Lori, Lana, Colin and I also worked together at McDonald's during the latter 70's while we were all in high school. Lana had a keen sense of humor, a quick wit, was never at loss for words and if you dared to prank her, your guard had to be up because she would pay you back....... with dividends. In short, Lana was a sparkplug and fun to be around. Colin contacted me Saturday morning to share the sad news. So very sorry for your loss Eric and family. Our sincere condolences to all of you and entire Ewanowich family. Murray Bennett and family - Charlie Lake, BC Colin Bennett and family - Calgary, Alberta.

Love and heartfelt sympathy to Eric, Spencer, Sheena, and family. Today and always, may loving memories of Lana bring you peace, comfort, and strength. I am finding it difficult to put into words how much I will miss Lana. We met about 24 years ago at the daycare our kids went to. I loved her sarcastic sense of humour and her sass! We became fast-friends and our friendship evolved and deepened with time. Over the years we shared a few tears and so many laughs! I will forever treasure my memories of birthday parties with the kids, family camping, patio drinks, talking on the phone (for hours), and all the shenanigans. Lana may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. ♥️

So saddened to just hear of Lana’s passing. She was a good friend in our teen years growing together in Lloydminster. Hugs & prayers to all. May time help to ease your pain & sorrow

Wishing you, your family, and friends strength in the days to come. Lana will live on in your hearts and memories. God rest her soul.

Lana, we have been friends for close to 24 years! I will miss your friendship, your smile, your hope and your very fierce courage. Your wings were ready Lana but our hearts were not...Rest with the Angels my friend. From our family to yours Eric, please accept our deepest sympathy Pam, Kevin, Chad & Corissa Moore

Lana was a beautiful person inside and out. Her strength and positivity were contagious, we feel extremely blessed to have had Lana as a friend and she will always hold a place in our hearts. Sending lots of love to Eric, Spencer, Sheena and all of Lana’s family. Amanda & Eric

Hugs for all of you guys ❤️♥️

It is with a heavy heart that I express my sincere condolences on Lana’s passing. I will always remember the day (my wedding day) that Lana came to the rescue. My wife Saori had had her hair styled in Banff and the stylist, assuming because she was Japanese, would want a traditional Japanese style. Great for a kimono but devastating for a wedding dress. Saori looked like the bride of Frankenstein and she was beside herself with grief. Lana heard about her disconcerted state and walked into the room and in a few short minutes her hair was immaculate. We had an incredible ceremony thanks in large part, to Lana’s compassion and talent. I can only imagine the countless times she saved the day for or enriched the self-esteem and lives of others with her talent and compassion. I know my brother loved her as only he could, with all the love he could muster, never faltering, and serving as home chef, compatriot and in the end as compassionate nurse and care-giver. Lana, in no uncertain terms, had a life full of love and the gift of a life-long devoted husband and family. She will be missed. Sincerely and with heartfelt condolences, Tony, Kaito and Sean

Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time. May your memories console you in the coming days as you greive for Lana. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

I will never forget her, she was such a wonderful woman. Eric, Sheena and Spencer, I hope that you all pull through this together. My deepest sympathy to all of you and to her extended family.

My Condolences to you and your family. Too young to die !! Blessed for the time you had.
