James Brian Searcy

October 8th, 2020

It is with heartfelt sadness, the family announces the passing of James (Jim) Searcy in the early morning of Monday, October 5, 2020 in Didsbury, Alberta.  He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gladys (Kohlmier, 79).  Jim is  lovingly remembered by his sons, Ken (Maureen) and David; grandchildren, James (Darcy), and Marlyce (Colin); and great-grandchildren, Ezra and Archer.

Born in Spirit River, AB, Jim held a number of interesting vocations that took him and the family across Alberta and Saskatchewan before settling in Didsbury, Alberta.  Jim loved the outdoors and spent time hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Jim's sharp wit and keen sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Messages:

Jim was a great friend of his Uncle Bob ,who was my dad. We spent much time in his company. Always fun. We (Bev & I) were married by Gladys's father in Regina in a dual ceremony with dad and my step-mom Peggy in Sept. 1960.He was more like a brother than a cousin to me.

We’re so sorry for your loss. We have great memories of time spent Kay, Diane and Donna Lowe

I have fond memories of my uncle Jim. I recall his laugh and a quiet manner. My condolences to my cousins and all who knew him.
