Donald Francis Moon

With great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Don (Moon Beam) at the age of 73 years on Saturday, September 12, 2020. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon; his children, Don Jr. (Melody) of Mayerthorpe, AB., Shane (Kylie) of Surrey Hills, Victoria, Australia, Le-Anna Currie of Lethbridge, AB., Annette Bedard-Fedor (predeceased); his sisters, Pat Lawrence (Ed) and Pam Morgan (Warren, predeceased), Trudy Bolt (Keith, predeceased); brother, Bart of Didsbury; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends. He was also predeceased by his father, Bill; and mother, Betty.

Don was born and raised in Didsbury until his passing. Don worked at a young age along side his father drilling water wells in the Didsbury area. He then started at the Harmattan Gas Plant for Canadian Superior for approximately 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing hockey with the Ramblers and later Old Timers Hockey. Don loved to camp with his wife and puppies, along with friends and the making of new friends.

Don was a devoted husband, his children and grandchildren brought him great joy. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that he will be deeply missed. At Don’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

May our hearts heal, Uncle Don was a wonderful man, I’ll always remember his kind heart and fast boat. I love you Aunty Sharon. Trudy sends her love and the memory her Brother was her Everything and was always there to listen.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Don, he always had that big smile going and made ya feel welcomed. Cherish all the great memories that you have of the years shared.

Sending hugs and condolences to Sharon and all of the Bill Moon family on your loss. We will always remember Don for his kind hospitality and sense of humor. Glad we would drop in whenever we were in Didsbury and really enjoyed our time at the reunions. Love you all.

We are so sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He’ll be missed. God took him way too young. Hope you can have some peace with all the memories you’ve made over the years. So angry Covid didn’t allow the reunion so we could have visited one last time. Take care and God Bless everyone.

sorry to hear of this great loss. Donny the gentle giant, great person easy going do anything for ya. Will be missed for sure.
