Christopher Parkyn

February 8th, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Micheal Parkyn on February 8, 2019, he was 40 years old.
Christopher was born in Nelson, BC on January 31, 1979. He moved to Calgary when he was only 9 months old.  His favorite thing to do growing up was to spend time on his Grandma and Grandpa Castleman‘s farm with his cousins, where they spent many nights together around the fire.
Chris made a career as a pressman for many years, but he recently completed a pre-apprenticeship program for a heavy equipment technician, which was his real passion. He preferred to spend his time in the garage working on his motorcycles.
He will be fondly remembered for his kind and sensitive soul by all that knew and loved him. He never took himself too seriously, and was quick to laugh at himself when a joke was made at his expense. He has left a profound mark on all the lives he touched during his time here on earth, and will be deeply missed.
He was survived by his mother and step-father, Kristina and Tony Rauh; his sister, Jenny; step-brother Nathan (Janessa); and nephews, Jayden and Hunter; and niece, Alex. He was predeceased by his father, Michael.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pineridge Community Hall, 6024 Rundlehorn Drive NE, Calgary, AB on Friday, February 15, 2019, between 1-4 PM.
