Mary Davidson

January 3rd, 2019

Mary Davidson (nee Peters), aged 91, passed into the presence of her Saviour on January 3, 2019, in Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta. She was the middle child of 15 children born to Frank and Helena Peters of Warman, Saskatchewan. Her schooling was taken in Warman and at age 21, she met and married Glenn Davidson of Rutland, Saskatchewan. It was on a farm there that they raised five children. She was a hard worker who loved the outdoors, driving the grain truck during harvest, picking berries, gardening, and birdwatching. She loved to play board games and do crafts, but her main love was her children and later on her grandchildren and then great grandchildren. She had a strong love for her Lord and was happy to share her faith with those around her. She spent her final years in Airdrie, Alberta, where she was happy to spend time with family and friends. She is survived by her children Sylvia Storey (Don), Glenda Davidson, Marilyn Magnus (Jim), Terri Cowan (Rick) and Curtis Davidson (Rhonda), along with sixteen grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and four siblings. She was pre-deceased by her husband and 10 siblings. A service to honour Mary‘s life will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 1009 East Lake Blvd. NE, Airdrie, Alberta on Wednesday, January 9 at 2:00PM. Messages:

When our family looks back, our memories of Grandma are full of beautiful moments and full of love. Bryan specifically remembers playing on the farm, in the chicken coop, riding the motorbike, playing around the farm, and winter days spent skidooing and just having lots of fun on the farm. Grandma was always up for playing games. Joseph remembers visiting Grandma's suite when she lived with Don and Sylvia. Grandma always had time to spend with the kids playing cards or working on a puzzle, baking and listening to gospel music. Grandma always had a smile and treat for them. We remember the big hugs and smiles Grandma would give us every time we saw her. Shannon remembers shortly after Grandpa had passed she was blessed to drive Grandma to the farm and just a little after starting out, Shannon felt Grandma's fingers tuck under her leg. Grandma remarked that it was a habit that she had with Grandpa and she hoped it was ok that she did it as it was a sweet memory for her. Bryan and the boys are so thankful that they were able to see Grandma on New Years Day. We miss you but are so thankful that you are in the presence of the Lord and that you are happy, healthy and whole. We love you Grandma!! Hug Grandpa for us.

I remember Mary as a smiling, warm, friendly child of God who never passed up an opportunity for a little visit. You, her children, grandchildren and great grands have been enormously blessed with her presence. You will miss her deeply. Love and hugs....

We all know she is singing & dancing with our Lord Jesus & WELCOMING people into heaven. I always smile thinking of her!

Bittersweet days for all of you. Rejoice in knowing you will be with Mom so very soon. I continue to pray for your days ahead.

My deepest sympathies Sylvia, Glenda, Marilyn, Terri and Curtis on the loss of your mother. I have great memories of your mom while she visited my grandmother (Betty) and I can still hear her laugh. Whether they were visiting in the kitchen, out in the garden or playing cards she was quick to laugh and I loved that about her. It is with deep regrets that I will not be able to attend on the 9th but I will be praying for you and your families as you go through this. Take care and God bless.
