Bruce Marshall

December 10th, 2020

Bruce was a people person who always greeted you with a smile.

Born in Montreal 73 years ago he was proud of growing up there and in the Laurentians. He formed some lifelong friendships there and always enjoyed staying connected and visiting with these friends over the years.

As a young man Bruce was an avid skier and as he got older particularly enjoyed his skiing trips to Europe. He enjoyed hockey, was a loyal fan of “the Habs”, and had very fond memories of personally meeting several of the Canadiens players over the years.

Predeceased by his son Michael, he is survived by his wife Deb, Daughter Jenn, (Ian) and grandsons Ethan and Dawson, Sister Susan, nieces Laurie and Alison, nephew Nick, and their families, Brother in law Ron (Karen) and Niece Shawn, (Malcolm), great niece Marlo and great nephew Aidan. Nephew Regan, great nephew Nathan, Sister in law Maureen (John).

Bruce’s career with Air Canada saw him move to Vancouver in 1974 – where he met and married Deb and raised his family while living in Richmond B.C. for many years. Bruce had a good sense of humour and found great pleasure in making people laugh. He maintained a big interest in all the cars of his lifetime and his love of music of all kinds brought him much pleasure – he was known for his Elvis impersonation.

Volunteering in the community was important to Bruce as he was always interested in helping others – even after he wasn’t doing all that well himself.

Bruce loved to travel and enjoyed time with his family.

In later years, he suffered from dementia and received wonderful loving care from Menno Home in Abbotsford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to - Mennonite Benevolent Society, 32945 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, B.C. V2S 1K1

Bruce will be missed by all who knew him.
