Leopoldo "Pol" Garcia

It is with deep sadness but great faith we announce the death of Leopoldo Pandinco Garcia at the age of 79 after suffering a massive stroke in late 2018.

He was born 1940 in Calamba, Laguna, Philippines and died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on July 11, 2019 at Richmond General Hospital. He was raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1969. He worked hard in accounting and trades where he helped many people. He loved to travel, go fish, and spend time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of St. Paul Parish in Richmond, the Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary and Couples For Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Mapa) of 49 years, children, Gilbert (Marie), Gerard (Carolyn) and Genevieve (Jivvy), grandchildren, Lucas, Tristan, Bennett, Brielle, Josiah and Eliana, and siblings; along with many nieces and nephews and their children.

Prayers and Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 25th at 7pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 26th at 10am. Both at St. Paul Parish, 8251 St. Alban’s Road, Richmond BC.
