BARRY JAMES CALDWELL

November 18th, 2014

Barry passed away suddenly after an intense battle with cancer. He was born in Tisdale, SK & raised in Port Alberni but lived his adult years in the lower mainland. His career was spent in the forest industry including 31 years with the BC Forest Service. He retired in 2001 & always said that "retirement" was the best job he ever had!

He leaves behind to miss him, his wife & best friend, Shirley, & their combined family of 6 children: Kristina Winter (Norm), Jamie Caldwell, Shannon Wailing, Curtis Wailing (Christina), Cory Wailing (Salimah), & Corinne Varga. 8 grandchildren: Kurt, Alex, Emily, Casey, Charlie, Grayson, Paityn, & Brandy (Dusty) & 1 great grandchild, Jordyn. Brothers: Lorne (Alice), Dale (Joyce), Mel (June), Ken (Nancy) & sister Margaret Kerr, & their families as well as nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Floyd & Fern, & granddaughter, Jody.

Barry was a very well loved man & he will be greatly missed. He loved to fish, golf, & travel but his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren & his greatest treasure was his family.

There will be a "Celebration of Life" for Barry on Saturday, November 29th from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm.

33535 King Road, Abbottsford, BC with parking in Central Heights Church parking lot off of McCallum Road.

Messages:

My very deepest condolences to you and your family Shirley on Barry's passing. I know you will have wonderful memories to cherish of your life with him so that he'll forever be in your heart and the family's too. Praying for the Lord's peace and love to surround all of you at this sad time. Thinking of you...! Hugs!!!!

As many other residents of Tudor Village I missed Barry when he left. We wouldn't pass one another without exchanging pleasantries, talk about our families, laugh and generally good conversation. My grandchild know him as the "pool man". They were very sad hearing about Barry's passing. He was a good man..to be missed by many.

I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. I grew up next to the Caldwells and Barry was one of the "big" boys next door. My deepest condolences to all of the family ... you're in my thoughts.

I am very sorry to hear of Barry''s passing as I knew him in Port Alberni and he was a good friend and I did get together with him as we lived on the lower mainland and to the family I had great times with Barry I am very sorry for your loss

Shirley & family so sorry to hear about Barry- our thoughts are with you, and the family.

We were so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. Butch (Glynn Jones) & Barry had quite a history back in the mid-60's with their hungting trips, drinking episodes, fishing trips, etc. and we were reminising today of some of the storiesand had a lot of laughs. Sounds like they had lots of fun. Butch spend a lot of time with all of the Caldwell family when he first moved to Port Alberni in 1964, I'm so glad that the memories were all happy ones.

To Barry's family We went to school together, partied together & have some great memories of our growing up years. Our condolences to all .... he will be missed.

miss you so much ....
